 Running Retreats at Old Rectory House

Here at Old Rectory House, running is a passion of ours. We are incredibly lucky to be situated on the West Somerset Coast Path at the foot The Quantock Hills, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. We really couldn't ask for a better place to run! We have teamed up with Sharn from Aspire Physiotherapy to bring you running retreats with a big focus on injury prevention. These retreats will include: daily runs; Pilates for runners; injury prevention workshops; stretch classes; Thermalism workshop on ice baths and sauna for recovery; round table run chats; advice on training and racing; sports massage included; guest speaker; plenty of downtime to use our spa facilities (heated pool, hot tubs, sauna, cold plunges) luxury accommodation with flexible single and double occupancy options plus all your meals included with a big focus on nutrition, seasonality and flavour. These retreats are open to runners of all abilities.

Jamie is our in-house running enthusiast, with a lifelong dedication to the sport and experience competing across a wide range of distances. The last few years have been a real battle with injuries which have led him on an educational journey to find answers to staying fit and healthy. Stretching, Pilates, strength & core, ice baths & sauna are all pieces of the jigsaw he has found crucial in staying injury free. Jamie is currently completing his athletics coach qualifications with UK Athletics and has started coaching with Taunton Athletics Club.

Sharn brings a wealth of expertise to our retreats as a skilled Pilates instructor, chartered physiotherapist, and qualified sports massage therapist. With a strong background in endurance sports, she brings a unique blend of expertise, energy, and passion to our retreats. We can’t think of anyone better to help us run these events.
