Catering for your Retreat at Old Rectory House
Mealtimes are at the heart of every retreat — a time for connection, conversation, and shared laughter. We understand how important nourishing, delicious food is to the overall experience. That’s why we’ve carefully curated a range of catering options, allowing each host to choose the perfect fit for their retreat and guests.
Self-Catering
You are very welcome to self-cater during your retreat. The Retreat Cottage features a fully equipped kitchen, and our rustic Woodland Kitchen provides an additional space for preparing and serving meals - both available for your exclusive use. When it comes to dining, you can gather in our atmospheric Woodland Banquet Hall or enjoy meals in the cosy dining room of the Retreat Cottage. For full details, please visit our self-catering page.
Old Rectory House Catering
Let us take care of the cooking while you focus on holding space and supporting your guests. This catering option is our most cost-effective choice, offering nourishing meals throughout the day, but it does require a little participation from hosts and groups for serving meals and clearing away. We provide a light breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with complimentary fresh fruit available all day. You’ll also find locally sourced teas and coffee, plus dairy and plant-based milk options.
All meals are freshly prepared in our kitchen and left for you to self-serve, usually from our pantry shop. Guests can then enjoy their food in the woodland banquet hall or the dining room in the retreat cottage. You’re welcome to choose recyclable containers and cutlery for a fuss-free experience, or opt for proper crockery—simply load everything into the retreat cottage dishwasher ready for the next meal.
At Old Rectory House, variety and flavour sit at the heart of our menus. We champion a predominantly plant-based offering rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, herbs, and spices—ensuring your group enjoys a diverse and gut-nourishing range of ingredients. We follow the modern nutritional philosophy of striving for 30 different plant-based foods each week to support a thriving microbiome, and we always celebrate seasonality. Healthy and delicious is our standard.
We can happily cater for a range of dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free. However, as home cooks working within our own kitchen, we are unable to accommodate extreme allergies due to the presence of nuts, seeds, gluten, and other allergens in our cooking environment.
